    Hello,

Does anyone know of a PHP-based tool that lets me zip and unzip files on the web server?  I would use this for EE backups, among other things.

It would be nice to FTP a .tar.gz file to the server and then use this tool to unzip everything in to the proper place.

    Thx,

the package may or may not be available in your installation of PHP, but there are functions to do this:

    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.zip-open.php
    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.zip-read.php
    etc.

    Ty,

Thanks. I need something more user-friendly.  I did find this, though the Pro version is 30 euros.

But it looks like it will do what I want.

I’m also finding stuff on SourceForge, for instance, “Double Commander”.
