I’ve created a SEO module for EE 2.x called “SEO Lite” (since it’s very lightweight) to include in the WooThemes. As usual I’m releasing the module as well for those who don’t want to download a theme:

SEO Lite - SEO module for ExpressionEngine 2

I’ve been using ScribeSEO lately for WordPress and I’m really liking it. So ScribeSEO support is in the works. Just subscribe to my blog, or this thread to get the news when it’s out.

Looks good! I like your use of the template for the title/meta tags! That’s definitely a help to reduce SQL queries.

Is there a version of SEO lite for EE 1.6.9? I can’t use 2 because a few other must have extensions and plugins are not compatible quite yet. If not, can you recommend another SEO plugin for EE 1x? Thanks.

Sorry, no version for 1.6.x. You might want to check out LG Better Meta http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/lg-better-meta/

Bjørn - Thanks for the add-on.  I’d love to be able to use it.  Unfortunately I’m having trouble installing it in EE v2.1.0 Build 20100810.

I unpacked the zip file.  Then placed the seo_lite folder inside /system/expressionengine/modules.
I also placed lang.seo_lite.php inside /system/expressionengine/language/english.  When I tried to load the Modules page from the Add-Ons menu, EE told me that seo_lite_lang.php was missing.  I then renamed lang.seo_lite.php to seo_lite_lang.php.  After this, SEO Lite appears in the modules list.

However, when I click “Install”, I get the error message “Unable to locate the files needed to install this module”

I would appreciate any help you can provide to resolve this.  I really look forward to being able to use this module.

    Hi scsp,
in EE2, you have to put the module in /system/expressionengine/third_party/seo_lite

Looks like a perfect add-on for what I’m looking for.

It seems as thought I have the module installed properly, but the tab isn’t showing up on the publish form. Any idea? Am I missing something?

    Thanks.

This seems more like an old bug in EE where there were problems with the Publish Tabs layout…
What version and build of EE are you on?
If it does relate to this bug:
    https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/13503/

Then apply the patch as mentioned in the bug report, and reset your custom publish page and layout and try again - that will hopefully resolve it for you, N

Danielle, there are plans for ScribeSEO support for Scribe v4 (summer 2011). This will be a separate module but it will integrate with SEO Lite.

Hi Bjorn. First of all want to say that I love your module. I have noticed positive SERP increases as a direct cause of it, so thanks for that.

Just wondering if there’s any update on the ScribeSEO integration? Thanks!
