For some reason I am not being able to lift the restrictions on one of the member groups I have created. I want members of that group to be able to delete members and also to resend activation emails for pending members. The member group has limited access to certain parts of the CP.

I have edited the preferences for the group as good as I can but still “you are not authorized…” massages when I try the above.

I turned on “Can administrate members accounts” and “Can delete members” under:

CP Home ›  Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Member Groups ›  Edit Member Group

Is there a special setting that would grant permission to member groups other than Super admins.

I use 1.6.8 Build:  20100121. I use the user module, ee member and other add-ons.

    Thanks

Yes, they can access the control panel. Their permissions have been boiled down to a few actions though. I just want them to administrate members of the site only. Two key actions are deleting members and resending the activation email, both actions result in an “not authorized” message at the moment.

    Interfacer,

When you originally created that member group did you create it afresh or create it based on an existing one?

If you created the group based on SuperAdmin group then its title will be in red with an asterisk beside it.See attached

I have had the asterisk on the group, however i have build a new group based on the super admin group. I can resend the activation email if I go to the single account of each member. However If I submit the resend from the member group page (where all the members are listed belonging to that group) it throws the “authorization” error.

    Interfacer,

Please upgrade to 1.6.9 so that we’re on the same page.
