I’m having trouble with the Moblog module.  The error I get when checking the email is:

    Error writing attachment
    Unable to parse email.

I’m running ExpressionEngine 1.6.9, Build: 20100430.  My moblog directory is writable with 777 and it has worked in the past.  I’m not sure exactly what has changed.

Furthermore, it looks like each moblog check is downloading a copy of the file and has now downloaded 293 copies of the file into my image directory since June 25th.  Here’s what I’m seeing in the directory:

I suspect a server-side change. Does this happen with new entries, or is it stuck on this one? Can you clean out the mailbox and see if this persists?

I’m seeing it with 2 of the 3 messages in the inbox.  The problem goes away when I remove the messages from my inbox, but then there are no messages to process so I wouldn’t expect there to be a problem.

What can I do the troubleshoot?

Double check the paths to your entries. Have those changed?

Old and new entries look exactly the same.  They’re all using filedir_2.

If you clear out the inbox and try with a new email, does that then work? How about a different file upload directory?

Looks like this was a memory overflow problem.  The filesizes of the photos from the iPhone 4 have increased dramatically and the resize is taking up too much memory on my server.  Selecting a smaller size to email from the Camera Roll allows the moblog module to work properly.
