I’ve got a client who runs a photography website who’s worried about people nicking him images and posting them on Facebook so he wants to throw up a page (or overlay) whenever someone tries to access one of his photo category pages for the first time where the visitor has to click a checkbox to indicate they agree to his T&C.

Anyone got an idea how to do that with EE?

(By the way, I don’t have direct access to the client and have already passed on that I think it’s a waste of time.)

Not with EE directly, but I would look after those jquery lightbox scripts. Those overlays, that are used to ask visitors “do you want to join our newsletter”
Some of them use cookies to just appear once. You could customize one of those to fit your needs.
But if this really will stop people…? Hm.
Maybe a bold watermark gets the job done better?

He’s already got watermarks but apparently people still post his images with them in. I’ll do a bit of searching for lightbox scripts with cookies, thanks.
