    Has anyone every implemented a WYSIWYG entry field into an SAEF?

    I have the LG TinyMCE field type from Leevi Graham that i’ve used in standard entry, but never used it in an SAEF.

    If I just try to add the custom field name like normal, I just get a standard text area in the SAEF. when I submit the entry i only get “New” as the content, instead of what I have actually typed.

    Has anyone else had this issue, or might know how to implement it correctly?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ryan,
    Are you using EE1 or EE2?

    I know you are looking to use LG TinyMCE, and I can’t answer that unfortunately.
    But since your subject says WYSIWYG, just in case LG TinyMCE does not support SAEF, another WYSIWYG called Wygwam should work with SAEF - the downside is that it’s $35. http://pixelandtonic.com/wygwam
    Like other fieldframe field types, you just use the name of your field in the SAEF to get it to show up e.g. {my_wysiwyg}

    hey tidy,

    i’m using EE1.

    hmm. nice option. I think i might go that route instead of using Leevi’s plugin. Since i’ve got the functionality of the ticket system up, looks like I am going to port the same idea into a job report piece, so that is probably a great option.

    Thanks, for the info!

    LG TinyMCE may well work in a SAEF in EE1 - I just haven’t used it in one so can’t advise.
    So don’t feel you have to buy a commercial add on for this yet - there may be a way that someone else can help you with.

    I successfully used LG TinyMCE on several EE1 sites myself in the past - it’s just that when it wouldn’t work with matrix fields (LG TinyMCE for EE2 does) I had to buy Wygwam for a particular site.

    Also, more and more sites I made needed a file browser within the wysiwyg for uploading files/images and having bought the Moxiecode Image browser for TinyMCE for 50 euro, I realised that Wygwam came with a file browser built in for the $35 which made it cheaper overall for such sites.
