Ok, I have read tons of confusing, ambiguous and utterly impossible to follow forum threads on the topic of URL segment support on IIS on both these forums and elsewhere.
Can anybody answer this question: Is there any way to enable URL Segment Support on an IIS server? If so, how do you do it?

Yeah - I’m interested in this answer as well as I’ve got this as a compatibility results.
Also - Is this URL segment support requires for EE 1.x?
