    Hello

I am interested in Expression Engine, seems like a really great CMS.
The question for me is, if its able to integrate a Community. The goal is to create a magazine-style site (easy task with EE) with the ability to register, get newsletters, have friends, profile pages, user-activity counters and also a way to blog as a user. I saw some screenshots and I have the feeling, that this could be very difficult… They shouldn’t have something like the control panel as the user interface, it should be integrated in the frontend somehow.
Has somebody made experience with that? Easy, difficult, impossible? What would you use as add-ons? Are there preconfigured templates available?

Thank you very much for your feedback!

I’d suggest an email to the sales staff at EllisLab - EE’s license doesn’t allow for using it to create a “hosted blogging service” (personal blogs for unlimited users).

If the idea is topical blogs with multiple authors - that’s allowable.

Some of the other functionality you mention is doable with some addons (friends, etc) - but it will be a significant effort to build.
