Is there any way to force EE to auto link URLs in an RSS feed which it parses via Magpie (http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/magpie_rss_atom_parser/)? For example if I use the Magpie plug-in to pull from my Twitter RSS feed and the {description} tag includes a link to an article, I want the link to be active. I’ve tried the ‘auto-linker’ plug-in (http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/auto_linker/) but this doesn’t seem to work, a parsing order issue I guess. :?

I am afraid there’s nothing built into EE. The Magpie plugin just gets the feed and displays it on the site. Modifying Magpie or indeed using a plugin would be the way to go. Have you experimented with plugin parse order?

You may change the parsing order and instruct ExpressionEngine to parse an outer Plugin first. This is done by adding a parse=“inward” parameter to the Plugin opening tag. Using that parameter will tell EE to parse that Plugin before parsing any Plugins inside of it.

Ah yes, that might be the solution. Thanks Ingmar! 😊
