    Hi

I have migrated my EE install and the “email notification for new member registration” feature is not working anymore on the new server. Everything was running smooth on the old server (Linux). The only thing that has changed now is the type of server, which now is Windows. I am not sure about the php version.

    I am running EE 1.6.8 Build: 20100121

    Cheers

    Hi Christian,

What do you have setup at CP Home > Admin > System Preferences > Email Configuration? Have you changed this configuration since the move?

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Greg,
I haven’t changed anything in there either, see attachment for details.

    Christian,

Can you enable email debugging and try and send an email via your Communicate Module. Let us know the results.

    sure thing.
It sent successfully the test mail, but did not receive the mail. Tested a different email address which was working for the member notification just fine. So maybe the mail server of the previous email address not working properly? So doesn’t seem to be a EE issue after all.

I agree, it looks like a possible server issue. Let us know in case there’s anything else we can help you with.

    Hi
The above problem extendeds to other areas as well.
At the moment the forgot password and username recovery does not send out any emails either. Both for front and back end. Still server issues?

    Thanks
    Christian

Are you sending to the same domain that the ExpressionEngine site is on?

Just wondering as some servers for some reason don’t allow e-mails from the same domain that they are on. Seems rather silly to me but can sometimes be the case.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Mark raises an important point here. That said, if you are unable to send mail via the Communicate tabs it’s unlikely that password recovery etc. would work.

Can you turn on email debugging and try to send some mail? What messages, if any, do you get? You might also want to upgrade to the latest build of EE 1.6.9.
