my host just upgraded my server to php 5

the site seems to be up and running no problem.

when i log into control panel, everything seems fine till i hit the edit button, in both admin and one of my users

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 599310 bytes) in /home/maxink/public_html/express/cp/cp.display.php on line 1265

that’s the error i get in admin, for my user it just comes up blank, no list of entries or anything.

if i click publish, it brings up the blank entry form, and if i click a recent entry in CP it will show me the entry and data within it…

    any clues?

PHP is running out of memory. You only have 8 MB which really is not a lot in this day & age. Ask your host how to increase this to at least 16 MB. More is better.

    hey Ingmar,

    thanx for the tip!

here is the host reply: “Try it now…. it must have been a side effect of the php upgrade… I’ve bumped it to 64M…”

    and now it works perfectly.

    case resolved.
