    Hi,

I’ve been using Expression Engine effectively for a photographic gallery site with some static pages.

But now I’d like to add a blog.

I’ve set up a new template group and am working on amending the default template.

But I’m stuck with getting the template to work as a blog. Is there a good resource or tutorial someone can point me towards.

Things like categories and making SEO friendly URL’s are perplexing me at the moment.

I’ve set up some categories and added some test posts but can’t see how to make these SEO friendly. For example I get this kind of URL

    /site/blogging/C3/

    instead of:

    /site/blogging/category-name/

And all my blog entries seem to appear on one page and I cannot click on the title of each blog to link to it’s single entry page which is crucial for SEO too.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Have a look at Mike Boyink’s tutorial for building a church site. This contains the kind of functionality you will need. Have you also read through the Quick Start Guide in the documentation?

    Cheers

    Greg
