    I was unabled to post to the archived thread for Lumis’ ImageSizer Plugin, so I’ll start here.

    I’m on EE2.1 (Build 20100712) and couldn’t get it to work.  I’ve used ImageSizer before on 1.6.x.  I saw others running EE2.1 are also having the same issue.  Anyone still experiencing problems?

    I tried EDImageResizer here.  The 2.0 link on that page is broken, but I found the GitHub link in another thread.  Its here.

    I’m running the same EE build but downloaded a newer version of ED_Imageresizer (v. 2.1.0) off a different github URL though: http://github.com/erskinedesign/ED-Imageresizer

    Still, no luck… :(

    I’m working on a couple EE 2.1 sites with imgsizer and it seems to be doing just fine for me.  I’m not sure I can help, but I’ll try.  What specifically is the plugin not doing?  Errors?  Not resizing and no errors to back it up or what?

    Hey Jeremy,

    Thanks! Are you using Erkine’s plugin? You mentioning using ‘imgsizer’ makes me wonder if maybe you’re using Lumis’ Imagesizer (http://www.lumis.com/page/imgsizer/) and not Erskine’s ImageResizer (http://github.com/erskinedesign/ED-Imageresizer).
    My problem is that the plugin won’t even show in Add-Ons -> Plugins. I may just go back to the Lumis plugin, that one worked fine in 1.6x…

    Cheers,
    Jolle

    Oh, I apologize for the confusion.  Yes, I’m referring to Lumis’ imgsizer which is working well for me in EE 2.1.  I haven’t tried Erskine’s.

    Thanks anyway!

    I have Lumis’ imgsizer plugin uploaded to my plugins folder and it’s not showing up for me in Add-ons > Plugins.

    I have just the pi.imgsizer.php file in the system/expressionengine/plugins/ folder. Is that where it should be?

    I downloaded v2.6 and I’m running EE v2.1.0 Build: 20100720.

    No, plugins work a bit differently in EE2.x. You need to place the php script in a folder named ‘imgsizer’ in the third-party directory of your system folder. See the user guide for more info: http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/templates/plugins.html

    One extra little tip for the original Lumis ImgSizer—if you are running subsites or otherwise have your EE images folder not at the root level of your website, you’ll need to adjust the base directory ImgSizer uses. Otherwise the resized images won’t be saved and shown.

    An easy way, in the doc, is to use a base_path parameter, something like:

    {exp:imagesizer:size ... base_path="/www/ehabc42/public_html/subdir/ ... }

    Working here fine then, under 2.1 20100720, from the 2.6 version EE2-compatible download available at http://www.lumis.com/page/imgsizer/.

    Regards,
    Clive

    I’ve seen a hacked version of Image Sizer that will include a .png watermark over the images using an “overlay_file” parameter. It currently works for 1.6.x and was wondering if this would be included in a future official build for both 1.6 and 2.1?

    I get this error in EE 2.1:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_param() on a non-object in /home/user/admin/expressionengine/third_party/imgsizer/pi.imgsizer.php on line 60

    this may be because my system is outside my www folder.  any ideas?  do I need to adjust the basepath?

    I’m on EngineHosting and when I add the ImageSizer tag to a page, I get a white screen.

    {exp:imgsizer:size src="{custom_image_field}" width="60" height="60"}
    {sized}{/exp:imgsizer:size}

    EE2.1 build: 20100712

    Hello Jason,

    I had this problem last week, can you re download the plugin and re upload it. I had to do this and it seemed to work. Also can you make sure that you have a folder in images called sized and its 777.

    Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for the reply.  I tried downloading and uploading the plugin again, still have the same problem.

    As a test, I took the imagesizer tag outside of the {exp:channel:entries} tag and hard-coded a image path, and it worked fine.  (A hard-coded image path inside the {exp:channel:entries} doesn’t work.)

    I even tried using an embed but still won’t work inside {exp:channel:entries} tag.
