    We are still running 1.6.9.

To use the Discussion Forum module with EE 2.1 you need to upgrade the DF in the store to Discussion Forum module 3.x.  That is a free upgrade.

Any particular reasons, or is it just that it’s a lot of work and you’ll get round to it when you can?

We have a few in-house add-ons that we have to convert before we can upgrade and our focus right now is in other areas. =)

Heh, “a few” is putting it lightly.  We’ve built some fairly sophisticated tools that help us manage support, and it just didn’t feel right to use development time on ourselves until we came out of the beta.  Cobbler’s family’s shoes and all.

Yeah, but then there’s also the “own dogfood” school of thought, of course ... 😊 Just kidding.

Oh believe me, we know.  It’s not an issue of it being difficult, or of not wanting to.  In fact, quite the opposite: Lisa and Leslie Doherty had to work around a number of things that would have been easier or more straightforward in 2.x.  “Oops, we can’t do that yet” almost became a meme.  But, we’re a small team and the past few months we decided to focus on EECI, ExpressionEngine, the site design, and MojoMotor first.
