    hi,
    I’m trying to install a EE site that is already installed on a live site, i have to change a few things,  i was provided with the site files and the database dump. The problem is that before setting up the database on my local server and edit the configuration file I just get a blank page, and the backend shows me the login but it doesn’t allows me to log in, even if i do it with the correct user and pass..

    obviously I0m doing something wrong here, can someone please give instructions on how to do this..? is there any specific process to install/reinstall an EE site..?

    thanks.

    creativeworks,

    Welcome to the forums 😊

    So just to confirm. You are trying to get this up and running locally first?

    and the backend shows me the login but it doesn’t allows me to log in, even if i do it with the correct user and pass..

    What happens? Do you get an error or does the page just refresh?

    In your system/config.php can you try and add the following

    $config['cookie_domain'] = '';

    John,

    thanks a lot for your help, fortunately i was able to solve it, the problem was not on my configuration files exactly, it was the database, i thought i should replace all the links from the live site on the .sql file before updating my local database and so i replace them all, that was the problem, there is no necessity to do that.

    anyway, thanks a lot for the help. 😊
