OK - I’ve upgraded EE to 1.6.9, and I’ve got version 2.2.0 of the Discussion Forum.

The forum is displaying quite nicely now.  Problem:  when someone tries to register, I get this error message:

Warning: include_once(/home/com1/public_html/Skunkworks/system/modules/member/mod.member.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/com1/public_html/Skunkworks/system/modules/forum/mod.forum.php on line 794

    Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘/home/com1/public_html/Skunkworks/system/modules/member/mod.member.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/com1/public_html/Skunkworks/system/modules/forum/mod.forum.php on line 794

Fatal error: Class ‘Member’ not found in /home/com1/public_html/Skunkworks/system/modules/forum/mod.forum.php on line 797

I get similar messages for other features too.  I know there’s a simple problem, but I don’t understand what it is.

    Anyone know?

    Hi Ian,

Please FTP into your site and navigate to system/modules. Is there folder called ‘member’ in there? And if so, please check that the permissions on the files in that folder correct?

    Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion:  I’m missing a number of files in there!  I’m missing about ten files since my last install.

It seems that my backup contains the same files, but ten additional ones too: email, gallery, mailinglist, member, moblog, pages, query, simple_commmerce, updated_sites, and wiki.

Is it possible that when I deleted ee core 1.6.8 and reinstalled 1.6.9, the latter isn’t registered and therefore can’t access all the files?  Also, should I change the permissions in all of those files, once I have the complete set?

OK.  I think I’ve figured it out. Aside from the installation issues, it seems that the copy of the Discussion Forum I purchased was in fact a “Trial” package, and not the full meal deal.  I’ve since found that the real file has been placed in my download area.  I’ve downloaded it and I will have to reinstall parts of it.

This might be the source of all problems.

    Hi, Ian -

There is no trial version of just the Discussion Forum module.

    From what you describe:

It seems that my backup contains the same files, but ten additional ones too: email, gallery, mailinglist, member, moblog, pages, query, simple_commmerce, updated_sites, and wiki.

It sounds like you uploaded EECore instead of the full version.  See this comparison page.

You’ll want to make sure you do a fresh upload from a full version download - follow the build update instructions in the docs, and re-upload the forum files from a fresh download; then you should be good to go.
