Let me start out by saying that I CAN design a website. I spent years in corporate hell at Ernst&Young; schlepping out art. That said, my creative brain is fried. In your opinion, is it cool to take a GPL theme that was designed for something like WordPress and migrate it to EE? I would tend to say yes it is okay - except the original author designed it with a specific use in mind. Thoughts?

I don’t see why not? That said, if it’s really GPL (as opposed to say, CC or similar) you might have to make available your templates as well.
