    Hi there,

We are currently using EE (commercial lic.).

We now want to buy another commercial lic. and duplicate our current site so the front and back end are exactly the same. (This is so we can then easily and simply update our images and copy to suit a different market).

Is it possible to duplicate our website by simply copying and pasting the original files from the original website in to the new folders for the new website. The links in our templates (for the navigation etc) are relative so we shouldn’t have a problem here, right? Or is there more to it than what I have described?

    Many thanks

It’s not quite that simple, as many paths are stored in the database, not in the files themselves. Some of it depends on what add-ons you’re using as well.

There was a talk at this year’s US EECI that might also interest you: How Erskine Rolls with EE
