Not sure wether this is an EE relate issue or not but my host has just upgraded to PHP 5.3 from 5.2.11 and I’m getting the following error on both the backend and frontend of my EE site.

Warning: preg_split() [function.preg-split]: Compilation failed: this version of PCRE is not compiled with PCRE_UTF8 support at offset 0 in /home/xxxxx/domains/xxxxx.co.uk/public_html/ee/core/core.functions.php on line 801.

    I’m running EE 1.6.9.

    Hi Stuart,

Can you check your phpinfo() to make sure that your new PHP 5.3 install has multibyte extension support?

    Cheers

    Hi Stuart,

What is shown for PCRE (Perl Compatible Regular Expressions) Support and PCRE Library Version in your phpinfo()?

    Cheers

    Hi Stuart,

According to pcre.org your version, even though it’s very old, should have the required support. Can you please contact your host and ask them to check that the required libraries (PCRE_UTF8) are compiled properly?

    Cheers

    Greg
