I’m planning to upgrade a rather chaotic site to 2.0. Actually, it’s a long grown ugly beast of 4 domains, containing everything from my first experiences with EE to the latest 1.6. technology plus plugins. I also want to streamline the “heritage” in the process, getting rid of early mistakes without losing content, so you can imagine it will probably take a while. I will duplicate the database and the site structure and work on the duplicates while the original installation is still used for “the real thing”.

Is it OK to use a license upgrade although both installations will be running side by side (but only one of them visible to the public)?

I am also thinking of using MSM with the new installation. Can it restrict the display of template groups to one domain?

Hi, chronistin - it’s best to email sales with questions like this.

We do allow a non-public installation for development purposes, so yes you can do this.

Yes, template groups are per Site with the MSM.
