I’ve moved development sites to final servers in the past and had no problem.
This time it’s not working well.

While creating this site and making templates I used the “Save Template as File” checkbox and then was able to edit the templates in Coda which was much nicer.
This is ALL i did different than other times.

I followed these instructions to move the site http://expressionengine.com/knowledge_base/article/how_do_i_move_ee_to_another_server/

this is my testing site http://3six3b.com/
and i’m practicing moving it to this site http://3six3a.com/
    - The menu looks like it’s reading a cashed version, even though i emptied the cache before exporting the database.

this is my testing site http://3six3b.com/residential/
and i’m practicing moving it to this site http://3six3a.com/residential/
    - Once again the site seems to be reading a cached version

and on the system login page
It looks like the css file is missing.

    Any ideas?

Judging by your missing CSS problem you are having, you didn’t edit the server paths to the specific folders. All the templates are also saved in the database as soon as you synchronize them, so if it can’t find them on the server it uses the one from the database.

Admin > System Preferences > General Configuration > Theme Folder Path
Templates > Template Preferences > Basepath to Template File Directory

Edit these 2 to match the current server and I think you’ll be alright.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Wouter!

I was going around in circles, working too late without taking a break.

    Thank-you again 😊
