Hi guys, call me stupid, but this one is annoying.

I’ve recently changed my email address (well, a few months ago), and want notifications of any comments that get posted to my site to be delivered to my new address. For some reason though, I haven’t been getting any. I’ve kind of lived with it for a while, but now it’s just irritating not knowing what’s going on on my website.

    * I’ve changed my email address in my account settings in the EE CP
    * I’ve checked the ‘notify author of any comments’ setting in the weblog prefs
    * The old email address will redirect any emails to my new one.

Any ideas, or can you direct me to a relevant thread, or have I missed a setting somewhere in the CP?

    Thanks all

    - what account did you change? Should be through Member mgt. Perhaps your new email account spam box?

Do NOT change (the ‘sender’) it in (unless you are willing to do some authenticated SMTP relay…)

Seems I’ve changed both settings to the same email address – would this cause an issue?

Yes…you are now a spammer sending from @YourSite.com but using @YourNewEmail.com and that will get you in trouble. So on the CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Email Configuration reverse it.

    Thanks, lebisol.

Are you making any headway with this, gregwood? Also make sure you can send emails to your new account via the Communicate tab.

    Thanks Lebisol

Would it be OK if I kept the same domain for the emails, so mine would be .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and the system email could be .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)?

gregwood, that should be just fine. Just make sure you can send mail to the new address via the Communicate tab.

So you can send from hello@ but not website@—hmmm.. what flavor of email are you attempting to use?

I can send from either, just not to the hello@ one

Can you send to hello@ from a regular email program?
