Hi im using the simple commerce module for memberships and have the currency set to CAD but some of the purchases made come through as US funds

Also some of the purchases should move the user to another group but it doesn’t all the time, sometimes we have to move them manually after they contact the site’s owner.

    site is using 1.6.8

    thanks for taking the time

    pab514,

Have you got a link to your site?
When you say come through as US funds, what do you mean exactly? Just so we are on the same page.

Was there anything else unusual about the purchases that weren’t moved to another group.

Do you have different types of membership?

Hi John the site is live,

the store is availabe to members only, i can give you an access so you can see the store, since only members have access to it.

I uploaded a picture the client sent me,

basically I have the currency in the tag set to CAD but when the clients looks at their Paypal account some of the purchases come in as US funds instead of the canadian funds that i have set in the tag

I am guessing that what you see here is whatever currency the user paid in. If I purchased membership I would still see Canadian dollars as the price on the store side but would pay in Euros whatever the exchange rate that PayPal gives me at the time while in PayPal.

In fact if I am in credit with PayPal it gives me to option of paying in Euros or US dollars in a lot of cases while in PayPal.

    Does that make sense?

Are their different membership levels on the site that you can pay for. Was just thinking that any member who didn’t get correctly moved into the correct group, was there a similarity between them all.

Hey john, that’s what i was thinking too, just wasn’t sure, if that was what was going on.

    for the membership

there’s three different prices 20, 40 and $100 each move you to the same group called member_plus,

for some reason the $40 does not always move the user into the new member group after being purchased

here are the steps a user can access to purchase a membership on the site.

1 they must first become a member of the site,

2once they become a member they have access to the store and can purchase the membership they like

once again thanks for taking the time to help, really appreciate it

Hi Sue, sorry for the delay, from talking to the client, looks like the $40 does does not work and stays in the regular member group,

Does PayPal actually show the $40 transactions as “Completed”?

    pab514,

Try deleting the $40 item and setting it up again, making sure to duplicate the settings of the other items exactly (except for price). Does that work?
