EE Member Areas Etc?

    Hi guys,

I’ve been playing with the 1.6.x core for quite a while now, but would like to know if the full version of EE (1.6.8 for the moment - not 2.x) offers the ability to have different member areas for different member groups?

I need to implement both a “Press and Media” area and a “Client” area in an upcoming project. Very simply, if a user is logged in as a member of the press group then the content in the press and media area is visible (otherwise an error message, or more usefully a login box), and the same for the client area (this is quite a simple implementation - there is only one “client” area for all clients, so no client-specific data is required to be managed, just a few downloads / documents etc).

    Many thanks,

    Martin

Yes, that’s easy. Just remember that no user may be part of multiple groups.

Ooh ok. That’s worth knowing. Thanks.

But I assume that a template can include some kind of “OR” directive (so different two member groups can access the same page)?

    Cheers!

Yes, of course. Take a look at these variables and examples.
