Having a problem. I have a member group setup called editors that have access to the module section and to several modules; however, when logged into the control panel as that user, I receive the following:

You are not allowed to access any modules

As the super admin, I can see the modules installed and able control their settings.

Not sure if it is related, but several weeks ago, the exp.members table became corrupt and I had to do a repair on that table. However, everything else seems to be working. They are able to log in to the control panel and make other changes to the system they have permissions to…

Screen shot of the “editor” permissions for modules.

Make sure you have “Can access MODULES page” set to “Yes” in “Control Panel Area Access” as well for that member group.

Just to clarify “Control Panel Area Access” -> “Can access MODULES page” is set to YES?

If it is, can you try creating another test Member group, and applying the above mentioned setting, as well as the Member Group setting.

Created another group and assigned the permissions same problem. Digging in deeper, the option “Can Install/Remove Modules” was the causing issue, well with it set to NO, anyone in the group could not access modules, with it set to YES, they could access modules but of course can also remove and install modules (not the permission I want).

Knowing this, I located the table (exp.modules) and did a repair on that table and it solved the problem.  So it was related to the corrupt table(s) issues.  This problem I know I haven’t seen the rest of and I am all but curious why it occurred in the first place. We have several EE installs and have yet to run into a Database issue. This particular client has their own hosting provider, so do not know if they (hosting provider) attempted to do a backup or optimization while the system was being edited or what. All I know is that at least three tables has had to been repaired so far…. puzzled.

Nevertheless, this particular issue has been resolved.

    onepanman,

Note you can optimise and repair database from your SQL Manager. The tables occasionally become corrupted for a number of reasons.
Glad you are up and running again. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
