How much interest is/would their be in extending Ion Auth to do authenticate users against LDAP?

I’m getting ready to add this feature for my own needs. If there is any interest I would spend a little more time and make it a a more configurable thing.

A few things that come to mind that would be nice.

Make LDAP Auth a per user setting
Ability to define and select multiple LDAP sources

    Thoughts/Input?

I think through phpMyAdmin you can’t change the password because it is being salted..
You could change the password with the change_password page i guess.

You have to change passwords using the library.  What issues are you seeing?

Have you implemented this CI2.0 patch?  https://bitbucket.org/ellislab/codeigniter/issue/252/undefined-method-error-produced-when-using

Any plans to release it as part of Ion_Auth?

    SpitefulTowel,

Nope.  Ion Auth has to remain independent of any external APIs.

If you want to open source a module that users ion_auth and FB together feel free.

Ive not read the whole 75 pages here so not 100% sure if this has been mentioned.

I think the word groups should be roles instead.

Apart from describing things better lots of sites allow users to create groups and it can get confusing having the same names

    fwebs,

I’ll consider that for V2 of Ion Auth but the current version will not change because it would break backwards compatibility.  Thanks for the input though.

Ben could you give a quick how-to on what one should do to have FB/OAuth/Gmail integrated with Ion?
