I have “Enable SQL Query Caching” set to “no” and no tag / page caching.
Anything obvious that I’m missing?
EDIT: to clarify. If I set an entry with a future time it is not being posted until an entry is manually added.

Can you post your weblog code, where you are trying to show future entries?
What version/build are you running?

Ok, I just created a new template with just a weblog tag and I see the future entry posted there fine. So, I’m going to deconstruct the old page where it isn’t working and go that route for the time being.

Ok, it was indeed tag caching that I overlooked. Strange thing is that I hadn’t noticed this issue before over a long period of testing.
