    What version and build are you using? Check config.php and path.php to make sure it doesn’t still reference the live site, as it were.

    1.6.7 version…

    on config.php I change this line:

    $conf['cp_url'] = "http://mysite.com/sites/ee/system/index.php";

    to this:

    $conf['cp_url'] = "http://localhost/sites/ee/system/index.php";

    and on path.php, what I need change???? I see this:

    $system_path = "./system/";

    not sure if this will help or not, but the url for MAMP hosted sites I’ve worked with has the port after localhost…

    http://localhost:8888/sites/ee/system/index.php

    the problem is not MAMP, mamp running well the site… I have other version on ee installed from zero… running on mamp, my problem is with this version from a live site, the question is really simple:

    1. I have a live site etc… that I want running local, so
    I donwnload all files, export database

    2. Now I create a database local and import the database

    Problem: When I try to run they go to live site! not the locally… so I need reset something but I dont know, please help, thanks

    $conf['cookie_domain'] = "";

    This article instructs you to change quite a few paths, have you done so? What exactly to you mean by “go to live site”? Where do you get this?

    I mean with “go to the live site” the http://www.mysite.com, the article yes talk about paths “Open up the ExpressionEngine Control Panel and update any necessary path” great BUT I cant login on control panel for change paths, beacuse they go to the live site.

    is simple:
    1. a live site “http://mysite.com” (I want run that site locally so:
    2. I donwload the site and export the database
    3. I runnin mamp, create and import a database locally
    4. run the url http://localhost/mysite etc… for go to the control panel and PROBLEM: go to the live site! not locally,

    I dont understand what happend, that is too simple, but for some way they go to the live site.

    I’ve never done what you want to do, but I did do it with a Wordpress site once. I opened up any config.php, path.php, etc. and did a search for the live url. Any place it was found I replaced it with the local url. I also opened up the database backup in a text editor and did the same thing. It worked pretty good! But I am not an expert, so make sure you backup any files before making any changes.
