How would you compare the two?
Especially important to me is the built-in Forums in Expression Engine. Drupal doesn’t have very good built in forums.

How would you compare the two?

We don’t think direct comparisons are very useful in most cases. Depending on the project you have in mind and the necessary functionality required, ExpressionEngine may or may not be a good fit; you should probably test it 😉
We strongly believe in using the right tool for the right job.
The optional forum module is the one you see in action right here (using a custom “Support” theme that is not included in the download). The functionality is the same.
