Reading this thread it’s still not clear to me:

The Gallery Module is not available in EE 2.0 PB, but will it be available again as soon as EE 2.0 is released?

Well if it is and works with channels and is searchable etc, that’s good. I’m sad to see it’s gone so far but i’m just me and the clients that i have, and had…Now most of them uses ready-build gallery services and other ways but not want to build a website of their own anymore with EE because the Gallery has left the building.

    That’s correct, it is not.

but will it be available again as soon as EE 2.0 is released?

No. With EE 1.6 many people have used the Weblog module instead of the Gallery already; this is the “official” way with 2.0, using the Channel module.

I started a thread about the whole issue of images within the text and put forward a simple list of requirements.

@Ingmar: this must be a misunderstandig. The Gallery module is so much more/different than the weblog/channel module. Just a few things:

    -Batch upload
    -auto resizing
    -crop
    -annotate images

    I must have missed something.

I wish that Matrix was a default option for the custom fields, too.

I’ve just been playing with my first install of EE2 and whilst the file upload’s a big improvement, certainly for adding to a textarea, I’ve got to say I’m frustrated that there’s not a default option to add an alt=”” value when uploading an image for the ‘file’ custom field - matrix is the only solution I can think of for the way it currently stands and I’m not sure when that’s going to be released?

Hopefully I’m missing something and someone can put me straight!
