One of the best things about ExpressionEngine is the community. In fact, a lot of people say it’s the best thing about ExpressionEngine.

This is the place to discuss your informal lunch meetup, your paid training seminar, SXSW panel, or whatever gathering you’re getting involved in.

You can Add your Event and include the link to a thread created in the Events Forum.

New forum about events? Awesome idea!

Let me post the first reply! Yieha 😊

I visited the EECI2009 event in Leiden, Netherlands and it was great! Would love to share thoughts & ideas IRL again someplace, somewhere.

The “add an event” form doesn’t display for me (I’m logged in).

It’d be great to have the link to the ‘Events’ page listed somewhere in the main nav in the top - or am I just missing it?

The events are listed on the front page but we don’t link to it from the main navigation yet. We want to work out the kinks first and see how it goes.

In the blog post, I thought you guys were announcing an event module for ExpressionEngine 2. I got all excited and then I noticed that .com after ExpressionEngine. Argh!!! I definitely need to slow down when I read.

Still… your announcement was good news.  We are just in the middle of figuring out a bunch of event stuff and its pretty tricky stuff.

Very sad looking form but a great idea!
I am still trying to get some faces from SoCal…no luck, I guess EE developers prefer northern parts. Can’t blame them, who wants to deal w LA traffic 😊

Hey, we SoCal people can try. I’m in the San Gabriel Valley (you know, where they had that big parade thing this morning). You?

I think we can start by just declaring a meetup with coffee/lunch sometime. How about downtown LA at Phillippes, the original? ExpressionEngine, Code Igniter, and French Dips! Are you in? Sunday the 10th, 17th or 24th of January might go over well. What say you?

Todays London Meetup has dropped off the list, even though it’s not until late tonight.

Could I suggest that events stay on there on the day they are happening, for the benefit of eejits like me who will forget the venue until they’re on the train.

I fixed it up, so it’s showing there now. Though I’d recommend bookmarking the event site itself for venue info. =)

Thanks, it was more the principle than the specific event.

Very useful though, my first face to face meeting with EE afficionados who don’t already work for me!
