I tried it on a different host and it worked perfectly, so the problem is obviously on the hosting side so I’ll get in touch with their support and see if they can help.

All sorted. Got in touch with host and they thought the problem was with Suhosin. They sorted it anyhow, so all fixed. Thanks for all your help
