    Hi all,

I have client using the mailing list module, and they would like to disable the confirmation mail that gets sent out when someone subscribes. So anyone subscribing gets added instantly without having to confirm it.

Is this possible to do? I haven’t found a setting for it in the admin.

    Thanks.

It’s not possible with the built-in form, but Solspace’s Freeform module can help you do it, ie subscribe somebody to the mailing list without double opt-in. I don’t recommend it, though, I think the potential for abuse is too high.

    Amen.

I’m not into Best Practices Disorder, but an opt in confirmation is a must have to avoid the spam issues that arise if you don’t. It isn’t just the annoying spam that results, but email recipients who claim your email is spam (rightly so) because they didn’t opt in.
