Great Update. Thanks for taking the time to share so much with the community. You’ve got quite the job having to interface with so many passionate users! 😉

I have to admit that I didn’t really see what the big deal was with EE 2.0 being based on CodeIgniter as an end user until I saw the ShopIgniter demo. Holy cannoli. Not only did the level of sophistication blow my mind, but it hit me that there’s a whole, thriving community of REALLY badass CI developers that will be brought into the community in one fell swoop.
The roadshow reminded me how lucky I was to have stumbled into pMachine and EE so many years ago. As a lonely home-office dweller / coffeeshop nomad, the meetups and conference gatherings are totally reinvigorating. Now to check last minute ticket prices to Amsterdam…

It would be nice to see, for those who don’t make in to the beta, a new screencast of some of the new demos (with the obvious caveat that this is still beta and not all the features will necessarily be in the end product). It would be nice to see how things have progressed since this screencast was taken.

Once the release date is set, we’ll start doing this sort of thing.

Am I the only one checking spam folders etc on a regular basis to make sure an elusive EE 2.0 beta registration email hasn’t gotten sidetracked? ;o)

i have all but given up knowing that i am just 1 of 1200 applications getting picked.
Although i still get the odd hope when an EE email arrives - i am not as expectant or hopeful as i once was!
I just hope the release is on a sharpish deadline as missing beta means i have to wait that long again!

Maybe Leslie could let us know when the final invites have been sent, so as to put an end to agonising waits for those of us not lucky enough to be in the final beta stages?
#25 / Oct 08, 2009 1:51pm
they have already said…
The other 150 will go out in batches of 50 (more or less) during the week and possibly over the weekend.

Just a heads up that the next wave of invites likely won’t go out until late this weekend or Monday. We need a buffer between waves to let the new people settle in and give our staff a chance to respond to the new feedback, etc….

Yes, I’ll do that for sure.

Thanks for the update Leslie. Fingers crossed that I’m in one of the next wave! ;o)

Im not in the first batch but i’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed until someone from EllisLab posts that all invites have been sent! Exciting!

I have checked there too, but the spam filter didn’t catch any interesting things 😊
