I suspect this is “operator error”, but I’ve not come across an answer yet.  I just activated the Moblog module, and setup the appropriate preferences.  When I click “check moblog” from within the module, the response is “Moblog was successfully checked”, however the entries added count is 0.  Moblog says it is retrieving email on each check, but never adds an entry.  Any help appreciated.  I am running v1.6.7 Build: 20090211.

You might want to upgrade to the latest build, if only to rule out corrupted files (and because it’s a recommended security update). I suppose you have created a new moblog, and filled out all the required preferences, including the weblog to post to?

Thanks Ingmar - yes, all the required prefs are completed, and I’ve added the moblog: check tag to my index template.  It’s pretty vanilla really.

Well, that didn’t go so well.  I followed the EE upgrade instructions located at http://expressionengine.com/docs/installation/update.html.  First problem I encountered was I could not login to the CP after the upgrade.  I reset my pswd and ultimately got in.  The next thing I see is that the MoBlog module is not listed in the Modules tab.  I also get an error when accessing the index.php template as I had the moblog: check tag listed within it.  So how do I get my moblog module back?

    karms,

On your server when you FTP in, does the folder system/modules/moblog exist?

Hi John - no, the moblog folder is not listed.  Stupid question, but is it part of MSM ?  I did have MSM installed.  I see the note on the install page that says “If the Discussion Forum Module or Multiple Site Manager is installed, it is necessary to update them immediately after completing the ExpressionEngine update.”  How is MSM to be updated?  Do I need to make a purchase?

    Hi, karms.

Are you certain you upgraded the right install, or downloaded the full version instead of the Core version?

The MSM files you download a second time if needed, but you don’t need to purchase them again.

    Does that help?

You are correct - I downloaded the Core version as it was the only one listed at the https://secure.expressionengine.com/download.php site.  Where do I download the full release?  Or do I need to purchase the upgrade?

Do you see a link that says Renew? Are you the person who installed EE? Did you purchase it over a year ago?

I’m seeing that you have a support credit, but not that you purchased it. You might want to contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and work with them on enabling you to download.

ETA: The Support Credit grants you only access to technical support.  You will need to login with the account that purchased in order to download updates.

Ok - update successfully completed to 1.6.8 Build: 20090915.  Now i am back to the OP - I get the below response when I check moblog..

    Moblog was successfully checked
    Emails Retrieved: 2
    Entries Added: 0
    Attachments Uploaded: 0
    Pings Sent: 0

I cleared the moblog prefix so all emails are retrieved.  I have the correct weblog set in the pref’s.  My other settings are as follows..

    Default Categories: None
    Default Field: None
    Default Status: None
    Default Author: me

I also have the valid from email addresses set.

    In your moblog configuration:

Do you have a Subject Prefix set?
Is Authorization Required in Email set to yes or no?
Are you using the Valid ‘From’ Emails for Moblog feature?

Hello Greg - I have tried it with and without the subject prefix.  Same result for each.  Auth Required is set to No.  I also have tried it with and without valid ‘from’ emails - same results for each there too.
