I still haven’t used expression Engine for anything yet, despite looking into it well over a year ago. But it looks like I finally have a project I can learn it for!

I’m part of a team of locals setting up a community Film Society. There’s no cinema in our area and we’re going to be showing films in various venues to a paying public. However, we’re non-profit: all funds go to paying for the equipment and licence to show the film. Although not a registered charity, that’s something we’re looking into once we’re up and running.

Which licence of EE do I need to build a site for this venture?

You could use the Core edition I think, unless of course you want fully fledged membership etc in which case you’d need the Personal licence.

As Steven said, EECore would be fine, or the non-commercial version ($99.95).  You can find the differences on our Pricing Page.
