    Hi,

Every time I push the “My account” link, or “Create new tab link” it results in that same error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /nfs/c05/h02/mnt/74045/domains/sitename.com/html/system/core/core.messages.php on line 154

Do I just have to reupload the core.messages.php file?

    Please advise.

    Thanks in advance: G

G, Which version/build of ExpressionEngine are you using? You can find that out at the bottom of any control panel page.

The current version is 1.6.8 and the build is 20090723.

It certainly won’t hurt to re-upload it. What happens if you do?

Thanks for the reply. How would I be able to tell? My install and site all run in English if that’s what you mean. Interms of extensions, I’m running lg twitter and LG Add Sitename v1.2.0.

okay, let’s have you go to:  Admin -> Utilities -> Extensions Manager and disable your extensions with the green button on the top right.  This will retain your settings.

After you do that, try to re-create the problem and let’s see if you can.

    geisterwerker,

The error seems to relate the to Private message upload path.

Do you use this feature in your site?

Lets try and override it for the time being to see what you have in there.

In your system/config.php file can you add the following line without filling in its value for now. Then retry the My Account tab

    $conf['prv_msg_upload_path'] = '';

    Hi,

I just tried that and here is error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /nfs/c05/h02/mnt/74045/domains/domainname.com/html/system/core/core.messages.php on line 154

Thank you for your continued support.

And no, I don’t intend to use that feature.

The reason I’m asking is that Media Temple changed some server paths recently.

    See: http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Absolute_Path/

Check to make sure your paths in EE are set correctly.

That might not be what the problem is, but it’s the next thing to check.
