    Hi,
Just found this site and was wondering that is anyone here using this online chat-thing? It looks interesting but have no idea has it potential =) Are there out something similar that you might use as your “online support” tool?
    Oh, and the link: http://www.plugoo.com/

    Cheers.

Depends how advanced you want it to be…is is strictly for ‘chat’ or for ‘support’= with history, clients, accounts, support tickets, connected/converted into billable hrs etc.

= If it is just for quick chat then might as well use skype or any other freebie with indicator on your site http://www.onlinestatus.org/.

= I have looked at a few…long time ago…remember liking “Help Center Live”.
Quite honestly using transcript from Skype pasted into basecamp or even your own notebook works for me.
For some ‘remote control/support & chat’ I can highly recommend free app http://www.crossloop.com/ (a VNC child)

    So what’s your goal? 😊

    Basicly i need all :cheese:
For fast support-chat to those who have difficulties to understand how things work.
For bugs/feedback ticketing that sends email when i answer.
Archive for all with the search and area listing.
    MSM-handling.

From somewhere i need to start and simple online-chat support is the easiest way, but if there is something that has more, that’s always good.

I handle several projects all by myself that all are parts of our web"service” so more issues and questions comes. I have build “bug-tracker” to serve our users and clients as kind of a “TODO/suggestion”-list but it’s not so userfriendly and hard to find also from our site =)(ok, it’s one click away from the main index but still).

Maybe LiveZilla is of interest for you. We employed it on one site. Our client doesn’t make use of all features by far but it seems to be easy enough to use and quite stable.

Seems to be interesting. What you mean by “quite stable” =)
And if I may ask, is it easy to setup, etc. Do your client have EE-based website?
The feature list is huge, and first thought was “how this can be free” - so there has to be some hidden “by the way…” somewhere? 😊

    Sect. 7 Online Costs
    1. All online costs accruing to the licensee, that is for the connections of the software (on the computer of the licensee) and the server of the licensor, shall be borne by the licensee. This includes in particular traffic costs and/or costs for the online time of the licensee.
    2. The software requires an Internet connection to the server of the licensor for product activation according to Sect. 3, for available update/upgrade checks, and for the execution of various different program functions, a.o. for calling up the program help function, FAQs and tutorials.
    3. The licensee must himself ensure that after installation and use of the software no further online costs accrue to him or that any such costs are kept as low as possible.

Can someone light me up with this (i’m not native in english so sometimes i just don’t get something that i read..).

    Does that mean what?
    - that online costs are = = Internet connection that you have (Wlan, ADSL, whatsoever)?

    Heh i know - i’m stupid 😊

So basicly you have to install LiveZilla into your desktop and make connection to your server, where ever that is. And those “costs” are the connection time you happen to have when you use the chat. Well i can surf as much as i want for montly fee so that means i could be “supporting” 24/7 and costs are only the price i pay for my connection to local company?

    Has to be that way?....

    added:

    2. Within the same major/main version number of the software (first numeral in the software version number), updates are provided free of charge to the licensee. Such updates represent above all error corrections in the current version.

Blah. Those terms aren’t clear enough for me to even give it a try!

The client runs EE, yes. With “quite stable” I mean, that there have been no problems during the 6 months they have been using it.

It is completely free. From the FAQ:

Are there hidden costs? Why is LiveZilla free? How do you make money?

    2007-12-17
No, LiveZilla is 100% Freeware. No hidden costs. No catch. Originally, LiveZilla was developed for our very own requirements. At this time we have several commercial projects running so we decided to give this one out for free.

The term about the Online Costs is some legal babble to protect the software vendor. In order to make use of the software you need an internet connection (obviously). You gotta pay that yourself. You’ll find a similiar term in any computer game license if it requires an internet connection in order to be played.

The software has two compoents. A server-part which is a set of php-scripts you copy to your webserver. And a client (windows only). You run that client(s) on your local computer(s), they connect to the server and receive any chat requests (if no client is currently connected you can set it to receive emails instead).  You get some code snippet generated you can embed on your website which will track visitors and allow them to start the online chat.

    Thanks for the link silenz.
Petri….I know this might be stretching it…but are you providing any hosting? Then maybe WHMCS or Hsphere (now onwed by parallels) might be of further interest. Again, just digging through some bookmarks no experience with it. Hey you said you want it all 😊
