    ...or close ‘opened’ entries.

    Also…when you Publish a new entry, can’t Open it.  Went through the Member Group privileges and they seem fine, but I’m no expert.  Can someone tell me how to address this newbie type issue?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums, dream-village. What version and build of EE are you using? First thing to check, does the weblog in question actually have a status group assigned to it?

    Thanks, back form vacation

    I found this….

    http://expressionengine.com/docs/cp/admin/weblog_administration/custom_entry_statuses.html

    But I don’t know how to set it on my weblog.

    “Open” and “Closed” are standard, and not considered custom entry statuses. Let me repeat, have you checked whether you do have a status group assigned to your weblog? If you don’t, Superadmins can post just fine, but all other users will not be able to, and their entries will be “Closed”.

    If you go to :

    Admin->Weblog Administration->Weblog Management->Edit Groups (Your Weblog)->Status Group

    Just ensure that you have a status group other than None selected.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Best wishes,

    Thanks for the assist, Mark.

    dream-village - did Mark’s suggestion help?

    Absolutely, that was the trick…

    I was also able to strip the admin pages a bit, using this…

    and just disabling access for the editor group, so my team’s first impression of the admin pages is very positive!

    Nice stuff, thanks.
