I haven’t seen this question anywhere.  I run a blog in which people create drafts of their entries, sometimes a week or two in advance.  It doesn’t open onto the site unless status is set to “open.” At the same time, we allow comments but expire comment after ten days.

The problem is that we’ve had a few instances in which the comments didn’t open because the draft had been in the system for over ten days.  IOW, the comment expiration date was prior to the post ever opening.

Is there any way to fix this, other manually checking the comment expiration box every time an article is opened?

    Greetings studes!

Manually setting the date is the only solution I can see here.
