Ingmar - I erased the Control Panel Themes and reinstalled them.  Did not work.

Next, I tried changing the CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Control Panel Settings

to Default, and Hover, etc.  Still not working?

Note when I try to edit a post using the EDIT TAB and then to CATEGORIES, the system seems to keep trying to download something and the lower bottom browser says - “Read s.bit.ly”  Not sure what this means?

    Any ideas? Thanks, Tim

    Tim,

Okay, specifically what entry are you going to where you can’t edit categories?  If I go to entry #121, I can’t edit categories, as there isn’t a category group assigned to it.  If I go to entry #120 I can edit them no problem.  So is the issue with super-admins?

If I’m not on the right track, please point us to specifically where this is happening, which specific weblog, etc.

Also, your publish page was struggling to fully load for me, and Firebug told me that you were linking to an IP address to your smileys.  I corrected that, and now your publish page is snappy for me.  Your comment about seeing links to bit.ly is somewhat concerning, although I did not see it.  I tried to ftp in with the creds you gave us, but it is being denied.  Can you please double check that you gave us the right FTP creds?

While you’re at it, check your main site index.php, path.php and config.php and let’s make sure there isn’t anything goofy looking like iframes or javascript in those.

    Now it works.

I tried “On_Mountain before and it would not show the edit categories. Perhaps the reloading of the CP-THEMES did the job. Weird.

    Thanks!!! Tim

TT, to wrap this up, can you please check config.php, index.php, and path.php for anything connecting to bit.ly? This probably has nothing to do with your original issue, but it’s decidedly odd, and I’d like to rule out a compromised site.

I checked the files. Then tried the site in Safari and the issue is gone. Seems like a week of technology gremlins.

Thanks so much for all of your support. I am really impressed.
