Consider yourself in good company, as I just purchased my first pair, too.

You whippersnappers. You’re not getting old just because you bought eyeglasses. Come back when your lime jello is too tough to chew, dagnabbit!

    ...eh? What’s that? I’m facing the wrong…?

2020 vision early last year but age has finally caught me up - using reading glasses a lot over the past 6 months and it may be time to get some proper glasses - will go nice with the pipe and slippers I am due soon (already have the cardigan).

I, too, had mine since 12 or so… but not for presbyopia… you get used to it 😊

I used to wear glasses (short sighted) from about the age of 12 until I was about 20 when I decided to get Laser surgery on both eyes. Had them done one at a time mind you unlike most of the companies nowadays that say have them both done at the same time which I think is really irresponsible. It is after all an operation and operations can go wrong so I had one done at a time (the companies idea) that way if anything does go wrong you still have at least one eye or you can decide whether you want to risk the second one.

Was really great for me as I now have really great eyesight. Admitted that when I get to 40 then the standard eye defects that everyone gets will start to come into play but I’ve had 15 (touch wood) really great years so far and saved a packet on glasses and eye tests.

I’m sure that time will once again creep up and bite me in the behind though so I’m sure I’ll soon be back to wearing glasses again within the next 5-10 years I guess.

Yep, it’s time to dig a hole. 😉

I have been wearing glasses since age 15. I couldn’t afford a coffin way back when.

Funny. I had 20/20 vision up until a year ago when one eye went into rapid onset cataract. Vision was still decent as the better eye takes over, but I was surprised at how quickly and how far the damage went. A few months ago I had the cataract removed and a new lens put in. Wow. What a difference. I hadn’t realized how bad I was at shaving. And, where did all that nose hair come from?

The nose hair is problematic, but has a solution. Let it grow so it looks like a mustache. It takes awhile but it works. Long eyebrow hair is another issue. I’ve taken to letting it grow and combing it up and back to cover what’s missing upstairs. It’s rather neo-neanderthal, though.

    😉

Most of my adult life I’ve had a mustache, which is why nose hair doesn’t bother me. But sideburns are just so Seventies.

As for eyebrow hair, I’ve generally been a bit on the light side of normal on that score, so the danger of tying them up in a ponytail is still a few years off for me.
