I tend to support the current version of a browser and one version back. thats pretty much it. being mostly a backend coder at my 9-5 i dont have to deal with the design as much unless im helping them with some jquery or something. but for freelance i support current and one back.

I sometime ago promised myself to only support Safari & Firefox (and ofcourse other standard-compliant browsers) when coding backends. It makes the backend-development smooth, both visually by using CSS3 and coding-wise since I don’t need to fuck around with fixes for broken browsers.

Ofcourse I support IE in the frontend design. But from now on (if the client can be talked into it) I’ll inform the visitor that he/she should update to a better browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome or in worst case IE8).
