    Please help. I was logged in as superuser and changed my system prefs from a ip number to the domain of our site. Now I cannot log in to the control panel.

    Try adding this to your config.php:

    $conf['secure_forms'] = "n";
    $conf['cookie_domain'] = ".example.com";
    $conf['cookie_path'] = "";
    $conf['cookie_prefix'] = "";
    $conf['admin_session_type'] = "c";
    $conf['require_ip_for_login'] = "n";
    $conf['require_ip_for_posting'] = "n";

    Undo your settings, then delete again.

    What exactly did you chance? Where? Also, what version and build of EE are you using?

    I had a request this moring that a file url was using an ip address instead of our domain name. I went to system prefs and found that the url to the control panel was using our ip address instead of our domain name. I changed that to our domain and the link properly referenced our domain name. I then recieved a note from one of my authors saying that he could no longer log into the site. I logged out and tried logging back in but was no longer able to. I tried reseting my password a couple of times but this did not work either. One of the other super user accounts will not work either; the system indicates that it is not in the database.

    Just to repeat, the site as such still works? And you can access the control panel, just not log in?

    Yes. I just copy and pasted from my backup config file into config and I am now able to log in again. I’ll assume I can hopfully give everyone access again by sending then new passwords. Do they need to empty cache and cookies?

    What line did you add to config.php that made it work? No new passwords should be required as such, actually, although emptying caches and deleting cookies rarely hurts.

    I simply cut and pasted everything from my config_bak into config and I was able to get logged back in. Other users are still not able to login. They enter username and pass and nothing happens other than a page refresh on the control panel.
