I just had a client tell me she clicked on my email link—mailto:info@my_link.net—and told me it wouldn’t open in her Hotmail client.
Has anyone had an issue like this before? Any suggestions to address it?
Thanks.

It is impossible to do so as far as i know. Mailto: will trigger a local email application to that computer - hot mail is not local, it is online / in the cloud (MS might claim). That being said, google it and there is a solution - one i have not seen before:

Depends how willing you are to offer IT support to your client when building a website for them. And the risk you are willing to take if this goes wrong! I would let clients do this at their own risk!

This is a perfect reason to provide both a normal email link and a proper contact form to cover both bases.

Good point.
