This is probably a newbie question (since I am only 2 months into learning EE) but how can you link to pages in an EE site that are within a subarea of the site?

For example, our site has been set up with categories and a left side nav that expands if you use certian templates. Like if I just added this page:

    http://globalhealth.duke.edu/education-fieldwork/fieldwork-projects/other-fieldwork-projects

a new item automatically shows up in the left nav called “Other Projects”. But here’s my question, if I wanted to add other pages related to this topic that are *only* linked within the text of this “Other Projects” page how would I do that. I guess I just want to add new pages for certain areas of the site but not effect the left nav automatically as it seems to do now. Right now as I understand it, if I create a new page, I need to choose one of our existing categories but if I do that then it automatically shows up under other areas of our site. I did not create the actual templates (a contractor did a few years ago).

So is this a situation where I need to create a new template? I hope I am being clear. 😕  Thanks.
