Would everyone make use of a dedicated CI/EE community site? One where users could join, discuss ideas, post jobs, pretty much anything to do with CI/EE?

Thoughts? Comments? (or is there already one that I have missed all this time)

I feel the forum, as good as it is, does involve a fair amount of searching when a lot of solutions could be turned into dedicated articles, e.g. a knowledge base.
CI developers could post their own portfolios etc and be part of a list of freelancers.
    Etc,

We have the CodeIgniter website, the Wiki, the User guide and the forums. We also have the CodeIgniter directory, so I’d say it’s pretty much useless.

how are you missing the site you are already on? not to mention when EE2 comes out it will be totally built on CI so im sure they will probably integrate at least some of the forum together so CI devs will easily be able to interact with EE people. so i agree with yorick on this one… pretty much useless

If you want to try make a CI knowledge base, by all means, go for it
But I doubt it will catch on as another community

And it’s just gonna be an extension of what the wiki already does.

The reason for it came about when i was looking for CI developers in the uk, I have tried local ways of advertising aswell as the forum. I realised that there was no real “community” of CI/EE developers to call upon. Hence the reason for asking. This forum, wiki etc is great but can be outdated very quickly. Also, there are several directories for plugins/extensions but again no central place which is constantly updated. The repositories here, as far as i can see, arent kept up to date and quite often i stumble across great libraries by accident.
