    Hiya,

I know this doesn’t immediately have anything to do with design or anything although I think this should be allowed in the Lounge hopefully 😉

I was just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for some small speaker stands that would fit some Genelec 1029 speakers?

Ideally they only need to be small in height so that they can stand on a desk but really I’d like to find some that can be bolted down to the desk.

I do have a couple of small microphone type stands (the Genelecs have a standard microphone thread on the bottom of them) which will hold them but would really like to find something that can be bolted to a table so that they have no worry of being knocked over at all.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows of anything that might help on this one.

    Best wishes,

I have some KRK’s and those sit on some hefty floor stands but if you set them on the desk that might be an issue with damaging them. Not really a recommendation but how about some decent wall mounted solution. If I am thinking correctly you have more a monitor then a speaker?

Sorry you are absolutely correct that they are monitors. That’s me showing my old-fashioness!!! 😉

Unfortunately wall mounted won’t be any good in this situation due to the location of the desk and everything. Need to use these as near-field monitors so they need to go on the desk.

    Any ideas on stands?

These look good not sure if they would damage a desk though.

Yes they do look quite nice those, thanks.

Not really worried about damage to the desk as it has a kind of cork-board top so fine with any spikes / screws or bolts going in. Shame they aren’t higher though as they are really just angling the speakers up a bit. Really need to raise them up by around 5-10 centimetres if possible.

    Hi Simon,

Thanks but unfortunately I need something that will stand on a desk just a bit higher than an Yamaha O3D desk. I can’t unfortunately put any floor stands behind the desk due to its location and the desk can’t be moved as it is solid wood built into the floor 😊

Thanks for the suggestion though, much appreciated. I think I’m probably just going to get a couple of those small microphone stands that have the strong round metal base and then drill a couple of holes into each one and then bolt those to the desk. Something like that anyway.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
