ok this is quite possibly one of my favorite conversations of all time to debate about. Not only because of the ingenious ways people come up with on how the midgets would win but most of all because its just down right hilarious. i just saw it sparked again in the comment stream of digg so i decided to bring it to the CI community to see what you all think.

So who do you think would win in a battle to the death? One full grown male African lion, or 42 male midgets. (we will say that the midgets are about 20 years of age each and have no weapons except their bodies).

So in a battle to the death my vote is with the midgets. If they split into 4 groups of ten or so they could surround the lion and stop it from moving or blind it by poking the eyes out. Granted a good portion of the midgets would be killed but i feel that the others would be able to take the lion down.

Do the midgets have weapons?

No the midgets are totally unarmed. Unless you count using the arms of their fallen comrades as weapons.

The lion would win, you are making an assumption that the midgets would have enough time to get to it’s eyes or any other critical component of a lion. If the lion was hungry, i totally beleive that the lion would be able to tackle any number of midgets. Bear in mind that a single swipe with it’s paws would render a midget dead or mortally wounded, let alone what it could do with it’s teeth. If the lion went beserker then they would have no chance, even if there were 70 of the vertically challenged buggers.

Also you have to remember that the lion could outrun a midget, if there was enough room it could dart in and out taking a midget one at a time.

However, if the lion was to eat a few of them, then it might get interesting as it would be laden down, tired and less inclined to attack.

The only thing the midgets could possibly do is tire it out, but in that time they would have to hope that there would be enough of them left to take the lion on when it did tire.

If the midgets were to have any chance they would require weapons. Lots of weapons.
