I am in the process of evaluating EE, and I find myself looking through the Wiki, knowledegebase, forums, tutorials, etc. trying to identify issues that I may have to address while developing my site. Some of the issues, such as permalinks, is something I never had to think about with Wordpress, since WP has such a nice solution to it. I right away recognize that I am going to have to research this subject a lot more than I thought I might because of the different ramifications of each proposed solution (there is nothing worse than telling a novice, such as myself, to make a choice between three solutions, on a subject I know nothing about. 😊 ).
Anyway, I thought I might shorten my due diligence effort a bit, but just asking people what are some of the more difficult issues that they had to resolve as they got more into EE. I am particularly interested in those that were surprising, because, no doubt, I am sure I will be facing the same issues other have. It would be helpful if there as “Most Commonly Asked Questions” (e.g. .htaccess rewrites) somewhere, which condenses everything, but I haven’t located one, if there is. Thanks for the help.
